The Rev. Noreen Suriner has been elected by the Wardens and Vestry for appointment by the Bishop as Interim Rector of All Saints’, beginning September 1, 2008.

The Rev. Noreen Suriner, was ordained by The Rt. Rev. Alexander Stewart as a deacon in June 1976, and as the first woman priest in our diocese, in March 1977.

Pastor Noreen grew up in Middlefield, the western-most town of Hampshire County, and has returned to her hometown in her semi-retirement.

Her career includes being the first woman rector in the Mid-Atlantic States, serving as rector for 13 years at Christ the King Church, in Baltimore, MD, and 12 years at Trinity Memorial Church, in Binghamton, NY. Additionally, she served as Priest in Charge of St. Columba’s Church, in Washington, DC.

She served as a Trustee of the Church Pension Fund for twelve years, and Vice Chair for three of those years. Other positions she has held include serving as founder of the Maryland Clergy Association, and President of the National Network of Episcopal Clergy Associations. Most recently, she was the Dean of the Binghamton, NY district, and on the Standing Committee of the Central New York Diocese.

Serving most recently as Interim Rector at St. John’s, in Northampton, MA, has been a joy-filled and wonderful shared ministry with their people. Pastor Noreen looks forward to a fruitful and rewarding ministry at All Saints’, where she will work ¾ time; still allowing for ample personal time to raise her beloved Scottish Terriers, and enjoying the wilderness of the Berkshires.

We are pleased to welcome Pastor Noreen to our All Saints’ family!

Christian Education Programs

Sunday School classes for children in grades Kindergarten through High School will be held weekly at 10:15 every Sunday during the school year, except the third Sunday of the month.  New students are always welcome. The children join their family during the exchange of the Peace so that they may participate in the celebration of Holy Communion.

The third Sunday of the month is Children's Sunday when the children participate in the worship service as acolytes, readers, oblation bearers, and ushers.  The children's choir as well as the adult choir enhance the service with their music.

Adult Formation classes are held throughout the year covering a variety of topics, in varying formats.  As programs are scheduled we will post descriptions on this page.  If you are interested in being directly notified when a program is available, please call or email the office.

For more information on our services or education programs, please contact the office at 413-532-8917 or Allsaintsshadley@aol.com
